Ct Transit Buses Numbering |
|
Posted by K1barbourstreet on Mon Apr 23 16:01:00 2007 If the Hydrogen bus is numbered 701, what is the numbering of the 43 Transit D40LF NF and the 22 Suburban NF heading to Hartford? Are they going to be redesigned? How are the 2 New Britain D40LF buses and the 7 D35LF buses will be numbered? Does the contract with New Flyer expires in 2008? And will there be another order of NFs? |

As for New Britain, they are scheduled to get replacements? My other question about 701 is: When does that bus run? I was up there a week ago and did not see it. Is it in service? |

Oh thanks, the NB New flyers is going to expand bus service and I guess it run only during the weekday mornings because I only see it around that time. On another note, say good bye to the L-Tower Av Crosstown and X-Forbes St Crosstown routes and say hello to 91-Forbes St and 92-Tower Av. The new system is 1-29 is Express, 30-89 is Local and probably Flyer routes, and 90-99 is crosstown routes. |

On another note---you might need to modify your handle to meet the new route names (I don't know what the K1 Barbour will become yet, but is the P included or excluded from renumbering, since its also in the New Britain letter scheme)? Also, thanks for the heads up on 701---I might try to make it for the morning. |

Most of the 9100 series Classics are actually 1990 Classics, and most of the 9200s were actually 1991 Classics (according to the delivery lists). For instance, 9139 is actually a 1990 Classic. |

I am pretty sure that P will follow CT Transit new numbering but I guess K1-Q2/4 will be under their new numbers, between 30-89. Also, how will the local buses and express buses will be renumbered? And what if New Britain change into new numbers routes? How the now long distances express routes (30-71) be numbered? |

There aren't plans to do that in New Haven Division...yet. However, CT Transit should attach prefixes to the route names, N for New Haven, H for Hartford, S for Stamford, M for Meriden and Wallingford, B for New Britain and Bristol, and W for Waterbury. For example, the B1 in New Haven would become the N1, and the AR Arch Street route would become the B1. |

I think so because first it was Stamford, and now Hartford. I guess New Haven, New Britain, Meriden, and Wallingford will soon have number routes, too. |

[My other question about 701 is: When does that bus run?]My understanding is that, during the initial weeks of its testing in passenger service, it will run on the free downtown Star Shuttle Route. From K1barbourstreet's post, I suspect it is used on the Shuttle the early part of the day but not the latter part. |

[Most of the 9100 series Classics are actually 1990 Classics, and most of the 9200s were actually 1991 Classics (according to the delivery lists).]Exactly half of the 9100 Classics are 1990 buses, as the first 44 were part of the same delivery of 9001-etc. in Hartford and 9091-96 in Meriden and Waterbury. 9145-9188 were part of the same order of 9230-925? in Hartford (and possibly the SEAT order in the lower 9200's). I am not sure whether these were 1991 or 1992 Classics, although I recollect they were delivered in 1992. |

I believe those 5 buses had some sort of then experimental technology that made them more environmentally friendly, but forget what it was. |
