MTA Prevost 1458 1.17.2025

Posted by Joe on Sat Jan 18 20:07:14 2025

The NY Daily News has a cover photo story (cover plus two pages) of southbound Prevost 1458 taking a turn too wide on the Henry Hudson Parkway service road. It happened to carry no passengers, and nobody was harmed when debris fell onto Kappock Street below. This happened on Friday morning.

What did the guy do who climbed into the bus? I thought I heard air hissing afterward. He didn't seem to have a uniform but he must be a big shot of some kind. After they towed the bus back a bit he was able to open the doors and get back in and turn the wheels.

Probably to start the engine and release the brakes so the bus could roll.

The accident scene (in The Bronx) is about six miles north of Grant's Tomb (in Manhattan). Both are adjacent to the Henry Hudson Parkway.
