With the last of the "open-top," rear-entrance double-decker buses about to be retired and new General Motors' single-deck TD-4506 buses entering service, Fifth Avenue Coach announces the conversion of its Route 4 - Fifth Avenue-Fort Washington line to single-deck bus service. Also effective as of this date, FACCo begins institution of the "pay as you enter" system requiring passengers to have fares ready upon boarding said route. There was a 1947 movie titled "It Happened on Fifth Avenue". There is a fair amount of footage was shot on Fifth Avenue featuring both the open and closed double deckers.

The "Queen Mary" photo you put up is not applicable, the last of them weren't retired until 1953. The "Old Looks" you see here are #2504, a TDH-5104, and the experimental 3100 which was TDH-5106.
