Sometimes it takes a few seconds for all of the buses to load. For instance, I checked the Q113, and for a second, it looked like there were no buses south of 147th Avenue, but then I waited and the rest of the buses appeared.I checked last night, and there were routes with zero buses on them when there should've been one or two, but that's probably due to a couple of drivers forgetting to turn on their transponders (either that, or the bus went missing for whatever reason). |

Last night on the Q54, there were no buses at the Jamaica terminal, 171 Street, none close by approaching. I zoomed in and out, nothing. Then suddenly one appeared leaving 171 Street. When the bus shuts down, does the tracking system go off as well? |

It registers when the route/destination sign is activated. So when I get on the B57 at Flushing/61st., BusTime is useless since most times the buses are pulling out of the depot. Even if you track one coming from downtown, likely it's running off since no job does more than 2 trips back to back. There are no on the road reliefs on the B57...........they always pull in and pull out. |

I'm curious as to one thing: I've noticed at the ferry terminal that sometimes a bus will be sitting there and it'll say (for example) "S62 St. George Ferry", but it won't say "approaching" or "at stop", indicating that it's at the terminal (even though from the map, you can clearly tell it is).Does that mean that the B/O somehow kept the transponder on, even though the bus was shut off, and had it register the last destination sign displayed? (Or does that mean that he pulled out of the last stop, and since there's no more stops, it just displays the destination sign). |

And there you have it folks, the real price of the cheap ass in-house product they went with...And don't tell me it's new. This shit happens in Manhattan too and often. Meanwhile in NJ (where they bought a developed, proven GPS and onboard technology setup from Clever Devices) I never see a missing run unless it's an MCI CNG which didn't get the Clever Devices since they're supposed to be out the door right now. |

I haven't found any problem with BusTime yet, but I see discrepancies between BusTime and Bus Bus NYC. One time Bus Bus wasn't updating and another time it was five or ten minutes behind BusTime, but the most serious problem I found was the same bus showing more than once, about a mile apart. I wonder what caused that. Haven't seen that problem with BusTime. |

All the 4500's up to that point are at LaGuardia; 4513 Charleston; 4514-4533 Fresh Pond; 4534-4570 at Grand and 4571 on at Flatbush. |
