Bronx Teen Charged With Assault On MTA Bx9 Bus Driver

The incident happened Tuesday evening on a BX9 bus on East Fordham Road and Third Avenue. The Transport Workers Union says Marlene Bien-Aime, 43, refused to let 17-year-old Steangeli Medina get on the bus with her dog. Officials say Medina dragged the driver off the bus and began punching and kicking her. Police say they arrested Medina on assault and menacing charges. Bien-Aime was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital with a black eye and head and chest injuries. The MTA says a passenger tried to get on the bus in the Fordham section of the Bronx Tuesday afternoon with a dog tucked into her jacket. When the driver, Marlene Bien`aime, tried to stop her, the passenger allegedly punched the driver and dragged her out of the bus by her hair and continued to beat her. The passenger was arrested. I'm not just pointing MTA or NJT or any agency, I'm pointing to agencies in general that just don't care about their drivers or the security of their drivers. This could of been another Edwin Thomas situation. Lucky there were civilians that held this asshole down so she can be immediately arrested and taken to where she belongs, in a cage.

I do not see why not anymore. A partition would probably add about $400 to the cost of a bus---negligible in the scope of things.
