Bronx Teen Charged With Assault On MTA Bx9 Bus Driver

A Bronx teenager was arrested Tuesday after allegedly assaulting a city bus driver.

The incident happened Tuesday evening on a BX9 bus on East Fordham Road and Third Avenue.

The Transport Workers Union says Marlene Bien-Aime, 43, refused to let 17-year-old Steangeli Medina get on the bus with her dog.

Officials say Medina dragged the driver off the bus and began punching and kicking her.

Police say they arrested Medina on assault and menacing charges.

Bien-Aime was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital with a black eye and head and chest injuries.

A New York City bus driver is recovering Tuesday night after being attacked by a passenger.

The MTA says a passenger tried to get on the bus in the Fordham section of the Bronx Tuesday afternoon with a dog tucked into her jacket.

When the driver, Marlene Bien`aime, tried to stop her, the passenger allegedly punched the driver and dragged her out of the bus by her hair and continued to beat her.

The passenger was arrested.

The driver is being treated for head and chest injuries and a black eye.
