New Miami-Dade Transit color scheme |
|
Posted by FYBklyn1959 on Tue Nov 29 09:17:45 2005 (Please excuse the obstructions, grabbed this pic quickly as I was leaving work)After 7 years of a magenta-teal-blue color scheme, Miami-Dade Transit is using this new color scheme on their buses using the tradtional Dade County colors of green and blue. I personally liked the old green/blue stripe with the "M", but that's just me. 70 of these NABI 40-LFWs (5101-5170) were received over the summer, and MDT is currently taking delivery of an additional 115 (5171-5285). While some are for service expansion, these 5100/5200s will signal the end for MDT's 1993 Flxible Metros (and their 1994 Flxibles will probably be put into the reserve fleet). A few 1994 and 1995 Ikarus 436 artics (which are pieces of crap) may also go out of service. |

[After 7 years of a magenta-teal-blue color scheme, Miami-Dade Transit is using this new color scheme on their buses using the tradtional Dade County colors of green and blue.]Thanks for the heads-up. I am flying down to that area tomorrow and will make it my business to look for this new paint scheme. I initially liked the previous scheme, but came to the conclusion they used one too many colors! |

Hey FYBklyn1959,I have a question for Miami-Dade Transit's NABI's: How well are both highfloor and lowfloor NABIs performing? Thanks in advance! |

I should really get down to Miami someday, I'm getting lazy.Personally I loved the old scheme. The bright tropical miami-vice like colors. |

Thank goodness they put the rear door in its PROPER place on the bus. It looks a hell of a lot better that the door placements seen on other NABI low-floors like in LA, Boston and Wilmington. |

According to my friend who is an MDT supervisor, the NABIs are some of the best performing buses that they have ever used. The only problem they've had are with the Twin Vision destination signs on some of the buses. |
