The first University of Minnesota Campus Connector photo is actually the Van Hool A300L and the 2nd photo is the AG300.

Nice photos and vids, BTW.

[At first glance that NF artic looked like a nyc bus.]

I believe Minneapolis had sent an NF low-floor artic in that scheme for a test run in NYC a few years back. The scheme blended in very well with MTA's scheme. I recollect the Minn. bus ran on the M-14 and M-23, but I forget how long NYC had it.

How can it be told? We have 6 ex-Minneapolis D60HFs (1994/1995?), although I'm 95% sure those aren't the same series in question. The ones we got look like generic off-the-shelf D60HFs with DD50/Allisons, touch-bar slide glide rear doors, suburban 2x2 seating with partial platforms, and an APU-powered A/C unit.

Great shots! I do miss the Twin Cities region - it was a nice area to stay and transit fan when I was there in 2005.

Looks like SW updated their scheme/logo, although I'm glad they kept the black/brown scheme. It really looks so sharp!

Looks like they are repainting the older Gilligs. The Phantoms really don't look so bad, and neither do the regular low floors (small nitpick, that bus is Metro's 2nd generation of Gillig Low Floor hybrids. The first generation (where there were just 10 of them, I believe) had the battery pack inside of the bus, rather than on the roof). I guess I just really hate that yellow in the headlight area.

Speaking of the Metro Gillig Low Floors, is there a reason why the 2nd batch of hybrids have black window panes unlike the rest of the fleet?

When did MVTA get MCIs?! Wait - were these the replacements for the articulated buses?

Also, I didn't realize that you can ride the University of Minnesota shuttle as a civilian! That would be great to know whenever (if-ever) I make it back out there.

Finally, Shakopee Transit - is that a new agency coming into Minneapolis?

These are great pictures. It's fantastic to see how the Minneapolis Area has changed. If you are still out there, I highly suggest going to St. Paul for a different, more artistic setting and, of course, a heck of a lot of other buses/routes. Is Lorenze still running?

I believe I've ridden the ones in question - the transit version. They are basically the same, with the touch-bar slide glide rear doors, but of course have the stainless steel American Seats (similar to the SEPTA NABIs). They seem to date to 1995/96 before the NYC order.

AFA the University of Minnesota ride, it was a split second decision. I luckily blended in with the students (backpack) and used the rear doors to board. As for the day in total, I did go to St. Paul in the afternoon (The first Gillig shot was from downtown) and lucked out as the sun was right on the main drag (6th street)

Well the Rutgers bus system is open to the general public, so maybe the UM service is the same.
