Posted by exgreenbusdriver on Thu Apr 9 07:19:10 2009 edf40wrjww2msgDetailB:detailStr fiogf49gjkf0d Q67 CUSTOMERS EFFECTIVE SUNDAY, APRIL 12, 2009 In an effort to provide faster, more reliable service through Maspeth, the travel path of the westbound Q67 (to Long Island City) will be revised to operate on the Queens Midtown Expressway Westbound Service Road from 69th Street to Hamilton Place. The westbound Q67 will no longer operate on Grand Avenue nor repeatedly cross over the Long Island Expressway in Maspeth. This revision will discontinue the current westbound bus stops on Grand Avenue at the Queens Midtown Expressway Eastbound Service Road, and on Hamilton Place at Perry Avenue. A new westbound Q67 bus stop will be added on the Queens Midtown Expressway Westbound Service Road at Hull Avenue. The current westbound Q67 bus stop on Grand Avenue at 69th Street will be relocated around the corner to the Queens Midtown Expressway Westbound Service Road at Grand Avenue. The eastbound Q67 (to Ridgewood) will remain unchanged.

The only question that I have is will they still make the stop on Grand Ave at the LIE W/B Service Rd or will they turn from 69 Street onto the LIE W/B Service Rd? Excellent chance for a picture opportunuity.

A bus route is supposed to service the neighborhood. I lost my bus stop.

There were benches and a quiet waiting area by the park. "Only a few extra blocks?" Now it means crossing the two insane LIE service roads to access the bus. The City NEVER shovels snow from the LIE bridge sidewalks. They become a trecherous mass of ice so you have to walk in the roadway. The westbound service road, a downgrade, is a racetrack during AM rush. I've seen countless accidents there, the most recent two days ago. Heavy traffic on Grand Avenue? If DOT enforced the "no truck" regulations, things would move right along. But I shouldn't be complaining. The westbound ride is faster for those who board before me. Good for them.
