I like the fourth image.

It shows the past and the future: a METRO Light Rail station with a bus on the Red Line.

The urbanity behind also adds to the image's quality.

They are nice Valley Metro buses Phxtusbusfan including the New Flyer D40LF, C40LFR and D60LF I like than the SunTran Gillig buses in Tucson but still like Sun Tran 1996 and 1997 New Flyer C40HF 9600 and 9700 series and 2000 series Nova RTS-WFD buses but not the Gillig low-floor buses.

I have one question phxtusfan how noisy is SunTran Gillig Air Conditioning in Tucson compare to the Valley Metro New Flyer Air Conditioning in Phoenix and Mesa?

Oops!

I should have said:

It shows the future and the present: a METRO Light Rail station with a bus on the Red Line.

They're about comparable. I wouldn't try to have a conversation while sitting in the back of a Sun Tran Gillig with the A/C on though.

Nice photos! (Sorry I didn't respond earlier).

Here's my comments:

2. What route was 6092 running? The Blue Line?

4. Although riding on some of them may be a different story, I will miss seeing Tempe 40-LFWs and 35-LFWs on North Central Avenue and in Northwest Phoenix. It was always odd to see them so far away from their "normal" territory and added some diversity on weekends to the usual Phoenix fleet. (Of course it was best when they ran on weekdays as well, but that didn't fare too well with Phoenix rush hour riders when they were packed into a 35-LFW)

12. I rode 6254 on the Red Line a few weeks ago. That bus is pretty well-worn, especially compared to 6246-6253, which are in great shape. The destination sign reading is odd, however in the fact that it has a lowercase route name and an uppercase destination.

16-17. Nice catch of the 45C-LFW on a Saturday! I would assume that it was doing training, although it would be great to see it in service (I saw a 45C-LFW in LOCAL service twice on route 56 back in 2005, I may have also seen some on the 45, and a driver told me that they ran them on the Red Line once).

Thanks! (No worries)

2. 6092 was running on a N/B 0-Central

4. I agree, the Tempe 40-LFWs and 35-LFWs were interesting in Phoenix. It would really be interesting if a Tempe division C40LFR (6401-6410) made it to a weekend Red Line assignment. Seeing a C40LFR at on Central Ave (or at Metrocenter) would be REALLY strange.

12. Here's my photo montage of 6254 (I rode on it on the Red Line on Sunday)

16-17. The last few times I've been in the Valley, I've been able to get photos of the 45C-LFWs on Saturday. I REALLY want to catch one in service (as it's the only type of bus presently in the Valley Metro fleet that I haven't been able to ride).

4. Actually, even after the Red Line disappears, you can still catch a C40LFR on Central Avenue during rush hours!. They operate the 512 on a regular basis, but the problem is that they do two round trips a day, that is it. It would be a nice catch though!
