Also can't help wondering: if the Q89 (under various names) failed to thrive providing service between Queens Blvd. and Jackson Heights along Broadway, how much better would a route along the full length of Broadway fare? In both cases it would be competing with existing subway service. Maybe MTA Bus can do a test case by allowing local stops on the Q53 on Broadway to see how many takers there are.Answering my own question, I guess the idea is to provide a connection between the westernmost reaches of Astoria and the Jackson Heights / Elmhurst / Rego Park commercial centers. |
