Posted by Edwards! on Fri Feb 28 23:57:01 2014, in response to Re: B46 fare beater shoot a cop, both legs, posted by The Logic on Fri Feb 28 23:06:49 2014. 42nd st would have served as a great venue for an experiment in light rail tech.redistributing 42nd st heavy traffic to other avenues..while enhancing its pedestrian capabilities would have made it a friendlier place..and provide quicker crosstown access for former bus riders. yeah..i know..the logistics concerning the various business ventures is partially the reason it was killed "in committee"..yet the current SBS program,which is factually similar to "lightrail/streetcar" operation has been pushed through with much less resistance..most of which comes from the DOT/MTA partnership. Why? |
