Please ignore the above post. I meant to hit preview instead of post.

"Some SBS buses may run empty because of the locals running in 6-7 packs, so when the SBS shows up, those folks were already loaded on the bunched local pack, when they should have been on the SBS."

I really don't understand this statement. If the SBS is running on time and that is the bus the riders want, why in the world should the fact that 6 to 7 locals running at once have any affect on how crowded the SBS is? That just makes no sense.

Also, the SBS is not as empty as they appear to be. Since the buses are longer, an appearingly empty SBS would be a crowded local with the same number of passengers. Common sense just says if you run short buses on the local and long buses on the SBS, you will need more locals, but the MTA decided to run more SBS's than locals to save money.

Add that to the fact that all those limited stops were removed, many people are not yet aware of the shift to Rogers Avenue for half the buses, the two block extra walk for Kings County Hospital users and no wonder the locals will be overcrowded and therefore delayed which only encourages more bus bunching.

This should have been no surprise to the MTA. I predicted all of this last March.

Also, I will hold you to your last comment about bus bunching. I sure hope you are correct, but I highly doubt it. There is still bus bunching in Manhattan and the Bronx where they have had it for awhile. Hopefully, it will lessen bus bunching somewhat.
