The only reason I can't see that happening is because it would undercut the city's partnership with Veolia Transportation (which owns the NYC Airporter service). However, such a route model could work for the M60; while it would require an expansion in service hours of the Q19, which would be the local service.What could be done is to make the M60 have only two stops in Queens before LaGuardia Airport - at 31 Street and at 82 Street...and then have the M60 run express to and from LaGuardia via the Grand Central Parkway. An additional Q19 stop would be added at the near side of 33 Street and Astoria Boulevard to better facilitate transferring. The Q19 would be rerouted to easily connect with the M60 for local passengers along Astoria Boulevard, causing one current westbound stop (80 Street) and three current eastbound stops (80, 82, and 84 Streets) to be relocated. |
