Then how about those #6XXX series Fishbowls I saw and photographed in service ? I don't think they were repainted. I know the GM Blitzs were.Either they were put into service before repainting and renumbering, or some were simply borrowed and returned. Here's MaBSTOA 6582 at MSBA:  Most of the Blitzes had half of the blue stripe covered over in orangem but not all. The "LI BUS" markings were just stenciled on.
