Well, I definitely think that there are people who would use transit to get to Jersey City if it were a one-seat ride. Ridership would definitely be higher on an X33 than the S89 going over the Bayonne Bridge.Maybe it's because I use the S89 daily, but I'd prefer that it stay. The disadvantage of the X33 is that it doesn't help people traveling within Staten Island. Admittedly, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if the S89 were eliminated, as for the most part, the S44/S59 have enough capacity for those riders. But like I said, at this point, there's definitely going to be enough demand for at least a few X33 trips. |
