José Juarez, 16, was on the tracks of the Kings Highway station at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday when the N train struck him, sources said. He lost the leg through his own actions, if someone else caused his leg to get cut off then I'd agree but he caused it so too bad. Without hearing all of the facts, I can't say off the cuff what sentence is merited. I imagine that Mr. Juarez has learned his lesson and that he's been deterred from engaging in such behavior again. The only remaining issue is really his making restitution for damage that he caused now or in the past. |

Allowing for the disability there is a chance he'd get off with probation, but he still needs to be charged and tried, otherwise the justice system is broken.The State of New York didn't take his leg: an R160 did. And his lawsuit should be thrown out of court if he makes one. |

Times tread the lens has a book: Subway Art by Niko Koppel which shows people the "art" of graffiti, in fact the readers praise this crap book " This is my bible " and " Has the basic skills to start creating graffiti " this author and others are most likely responsible for spreading this shit around NYC and other countries in Europe, and most likely this kid and others like him have red this book and think it's OK to vandalise transit cars and private property. these vandals should be caught and jailed and fined, no exceptions hurt or not, and this message must be posted all over the transit system.
