No, parents are to blame because they need to be in their teens lives more, be more of a parent instead of trying to be like one of the homies (the boys) or on of the girls (duh, the girls :-D). Know when to be a friend, but also know when to be a parent and law down the law.As for the schools, the days of teachers caring about the kids has long gone!! Most see it as a paycheck and not as helping "our future". Equal attention should be given to the D kids as much as the A+ kids!! While I fell on the A+ line, at least I came from a day when teachers cared about the kids, concerned about their home life, concerned about who they are seen hanging with, hell I have seen some teachers take more a role in some kids lives more than their own parents have. Having been a student of the NYC Board Of Education school system, you will be surprised how much I have seen in my school days. So yes, school and home do play a lot in the progress and actions of a teen and any child. |
