There are people who are bi-sexual, who may believe that they have changed from one to the other, but such is usually not the case.

Children need good clean information, usually from their parents, but all too often the parents do not have the answers, or else answer with a snap response based on a gut feeling rather than on sufficent reflection to understand the roots of the question.

Kids need to be able to speak to their parents, so if anything, the adds need to change the parent's ways of thinking and reacting, so that a kid can feel safe talking to a parent.

A kid does not "decide" to become gay or straight. For straights it is not much of an issue, but for a youngster discovering their homosexuality it can be very traumatic, especially if their parents have slammed that door closed by a previously expressed attitude, perhaps uttered years before. The kid will remember that, and feel isolated.
