Where exactly are these narrow points you speak of? I can't seem to find them; most of the ROW seems to be able to support two LRT tracks plus station platforms, canopies, etc.

Now if the ROW needs to be widened anywhere, it only needs to be widened a few feet. So the residents get their backyards chopped back a few feet. Big deal.

Note I didn't take the NIMBYs into account. That's because they will automatically oppose ANY transit built on this corridor, submerged or not. I'm proposing the least objectionable option for the Rockaway branch -- a LRT.
