Yes Fishbowl should work either Poty Jervis or Spring Valley as MLVs are rare on both lines but I think he prefers the RVL

Two years ago, I bought a condo in Flemington, only 15-20 minutes from Raritan Yard. If I would have known about the multilevel situation ahead of time, I may have looked into moving to one of those other locations...however, the rumor is that they want multilevels all over the place, eventually... :( I will be very happy if they leave them off the Port Jervis Line & Spring Valley Line. Thankfully, MNR will not buy any from what I hear and not sure NJT would want to use that equipment on a line they just get paid to operate except in certain circumstances. Although AFAIK Pt J & Spr Valley don't have that mush ridership to warrant MLVs and in the case of Spr Valley NJT can get away with 1 coach on weekends

If that's what they have available, that's what's going up there. They've been operating the line since the early 80s when Conrail was ordered (for who knows what reason) to stop running passenger service.

Spring Valley can get away with one or 2 cars!! The weekend trains, from what I have seen, not counting Meadowlands events, is not crunch load. With the single levels, I have seen the weekend runs arriving at New Bridge Landing (North Hackensack) and only one or two cars are open.

Yes, most of the time it is 2 cars open on weekends with little few folks on it. They can have only 1 car open and still have plenty of room I ride the line 4-5 times a year for MNR and that line is not at all used much on w/es sad thing is the crew usually keeps the head car closed which sux b/c that car is the bathroom car

Yes as I said they would in certain circumstances like when the regular train crapped out and they only had an MLV available but in general they don't use MLVs there

Yes NJT has had the contract from MNR since Conrail days but it is not a NJT line, NJT runs it like MNR runs the NH line

Hey, that is done on the late nighters on the NH (1:15AM GCT to Stamford, 1:53 AM to Stamford, 1:49 AM GCT to NH), where you can get anywhere from 7 to 10 carsm and only have (and need) the rear 2 cars open (and BTW, from experience, the 1:53 GCT to Stamford and the 1:49 GCT to NH can be much "fun" to work, especially Friday night into Saturday morning and Saturday night into Sunday morning!! :-P

Then you'll never get triple-digit average speeds WAS-BOS. Even with a 220-mph train.
