The side-on shot of 921 illustrates the greater length of the F40PH-2C to great effect.But, it needs more wire, like this:  Or, better yet, this:  Or this bizarre idea, complete with the bastard child of an LRC and X2000, and the obligatory maglev/monorail. I guess the thing the left is either a triplet EMU based on the California cars pulling freight, or a dual-unit electric locomotive pulling a single California car and flatcars with trucks on them. I'm really not sure why they'd run all these modes over Tejon, especially since it should have been relatively clear back in 2003 that going via Tehachapi and Palmdale was the preferred routing. God only knows where that Maglev type thing is going. I'd guess the very long way around from Orange County to Las Vegas, unless Bakersfield suddenly decided being 45 minutes from downtown LA on the HSL wasn't short enough.
