|
Posted by 156n3rd on Fri Apr 10 18:45:03 2009 While my wife and I were driving home from food shopping yesterday, we had to stop at an intersection for a red light. Driving through the intersection was an oversized load on a flatbed rig. It was a YONGIN EVERLINE ART (advanced rapid transit) car on the rig heading east about 8 miles west of Allentown, Pa. When I went on the net, it said that this car is part of a South Korean unmanned system built by Bombardier. What in hell was it doing on Pa. Route 222 heading eastbound yesterday? Very strange siting. |

Nice pics...As I was looking it up, I realized that this is the same exact line that was produced for BVE 2.x some time ago,... When it was created, it was IINM a fictional line, but it seems that it was a fictional line based on this project? --Dr. C |

Now in Newtown (Re: Photos: YONGIN EVERLINE) |

Posted by The Flxible Neofan on Sun Apr 26 21:37:14 2009, in response to Photos: YONGIN EVERLINE, posted by 156n3rd on Fri Apr 10 18:45:03 2009. I did a google search to learn more about this "YongIn EverLine". My story is that while working out in Newtown, PA, I saw 2 of these railcars by the Newtown Bypass - one of them was numbered 108.Then, on Thursday, I returned to the Newtown area on business, and found cars number 101 and 117 on the back of the oversized trucks. They were packed on the side of the bypass. Also parked with them were two other trucks carrying huge metal boxes - alas, I don't remember the name on the side of them. Pics below - interesting how they were going through Newtown. I can't believe they were actually going all the way to Korea! Where were these cars manufactured by Bombardier? |

Somehow they come from Bombardier (in New York?), make it through the Allentown area, hop on the Newtown Bypass, and then hit I-95 to Philadelphia. That would explain why I keep seeing them in Newtown. |

This is the same location that makes the bi-level commuter coaches. I forget what forum he originally posted these on, but these photos are from "andomano" of the cars outside the plant last winter. |
