Hem, the edge of the loop station seems like it is just above the new platform. I wonder if they could build a stairwell connection so riders can go to the Ferry terminal without having to go outside? |

Whenever SF Terminal is very quiet and (5) trains are running to Bowling Green, you can hear faint curving sounds from above when a (5) is passing through.OTOH, It's only 5-10 second walk from the terminal doors to the new entrance! Why is it that so serious to everyone here? Especially when they're not even done with the Plaza yet. They still have to build the bus loop, the car/taxi drop-off area & the canopies. |

They didn't spend billions to replace Old South Ferry just to have it used by another line, creating the exact same problems with it that the #1 did. |

I understand what you're saying, but I don't think it would be worth the effort. The old entrance could become retail/food or something to that effect. And I believe the MTA website mentions that the Plaza should be complete by the Summer. |

If your map is geographically accurate, it seems like a South Ferry platform could be constructed under the old loop station for Lex Av trains entering the Joralemon St tube. This would not only provide improved access for East Side passengers to the ferry but also the BMT Whitehall St station as well. |

I do not believe that this map is to scale, but rather to show the relationships of the various tracks. I used blueprints from the actual construction to place these stations. The only mistake on it is that the platform has a slight curve to it, which puts the bumper blocks a bit closer to the Montague tracks. |

One thing I observed yesterday is the placement of the switches. On your track map, it seems the switches are about 7-8 cars lenghs from the end of the platform. I saw the switches seem to be about 3-4 car lenghs from the platform. |

Yeah, I looking through pics on NYC subway.org, I foound the temporary headhouse that was in use in the mid 2000s...I'd forgotten all about it. But didn't that lead into the station from a different direction- like near the TO's position or something? There were wooden boards over the regular passageway, as it comes back to me, right?A pic from 1905 suggests the station was accesible from the front as well. |

But the connection between "South Ferry" on the 4/5 and Whitehall Street would be via the #1 South Ferry station- sort of liek the crazy transfers at Fulton Street and at Canal St... |
