Due to ongoing congestion on the 7 line, please expect delays in 7 train service at this time. They got more trains out there instead of some dropping out at Willets Point they are going thru to Main Street.. Horray for me being over in the B Div... Then again now with Mikey Service going to 2300 hrs to Broad Street it will be interesting to see how this goes... Six Minute headways from BRD Street to BWAY-MYR until 2330 hrs.. |

Why can't they send Moe to Broad Street all the time, I still can't figure this one out. At least send them to Fulton (deadhead at Broad) so they can utilize the transfer options there.wayne |

I heard they wouldnt use the middle track at Flushing for regular service starting this pick. Didnt get all the details but it was something about only using the middle track for a "gap train." COuld that be it? |

COuld that be it?If thats the case then thats EXACTLY whats the problem... Even when i worked the 7 Line my last pick on the AM's it was always a crawl from basically 82nd Street to Main and that with all three tracks being used and some trains dropping out at 111th Street.. I need to look at the 7 Line Timetable a bit closer.. |

I hope THAT wasn't the plan - that's sheer lunacy given the stub-end Main St terminal and the tracks on which trains are coming in on.They missed a big chance to help out terminal operations a few years back when Main St was being overhauled, and now they put the escalators in the way of future expansion even just for tail tracks. (I've heard - I don't know if it's accurate or not - that Julia Harrison, the area's City Council member was adamantly opposed to extension of the Flushing Line). |

Can't run everything into Main St unless they really refine terminal operations at Main St to match up to something like they do at Flatbush Av at peak, where the dwell time is reduced to match just about the minimum required for turnaround; but with the third track complication, work out timing on reducing the conflicting moves as much as possible. |

Even when i worked the 7 Line my last pick on the AM's it was always a crawl from basically 82nd Street to Main and that with all three tracks being used and some trains dropping out at 111th Street.A phenomenon I call CHAOS at 111th Street. I was planning on making a video about it and putting it on YouTube, but the NYC Subway layout on Trainz is inaccurate in the whole area east of 103rd Street. |

I was once caught in the effects of the "Chaos" as soon as I got on a train at 46th Street. Its effects had stretched out to 40th. |

According to the new timetable:** EXPRESS: VIA TK1 MAIN TO WP & THEN TK M TO QP PLZ ** for all AM express trains + they are turning ALL Main-bound AM trains at Willets Point instead of 111 now. Sounds to me like first day kinks. |

It's difficult to believe that 2 tracks are better than 3, especially when the layout affords some parallel moves. |

Sorry to be unclear - I was NOT arguing in favor of the imaginary 2-track plan. I was pointing to Flatbush Av as a stub-end terminal with very fast turnaround time because the crews are ready to spring into action just as soon as the departing crew leaves their positions so that's there much less dwell time eaten up at the terminal with the doors open. |

That takes years to put onto place, plus you have to give the crews decent breaks at the other end of the line. |

It would definitely take some tinkering with the timetable, no doubt. Last time I was at Flatbush Av during the PM peak, they seemed to use multiple crews with a 15-25 minute layover at the (southern) terminal for the crew that just got off, with the crew ready to go on already coming off that break. |

Just a question - is there something going on at the Corona Train Yard that has affected its use as a terminal for what were 111th Street put-in type local trains?Just wondering. Mike |
