SERVICE ALERT IRT lines messed up due to debris on the tracks |

Posted by R33/R36 mainline on Tue Jun 10 22:58:46 2008 Posted on:6/10/2008 10:56:20 PMDue to debris on the tracks at the Gun Hill Road Station,5 train service is suspended in both directions between the Eastchester-Dyre Avenue Station and the East 180th Street Station. Stations being bypassed are: Morris Park, Pelham Parkway, Gun Hill Road, Baychester Avenue and Eastchester-Dyre Avenue For service to Morris Park and Pelham Parkway, customers are advised to take the 2 to the Pelham Parkway Station then take the Bx12 bus to Pelham Parkway and Williamsbridge Road. For service to Gun Hill Road, customers are advised to take the 2 to the Gun Hill Road Station then take the Bx28 bus to East Gun Hill Road and Esplanade. For service to Baychester Avenue and Eastchester-Dyre Avenue, customers are advised to take the to the Gun Hill Road Station then take the Bx30 making nearby station stops along Boston Road. Also, due to debris on the tracks at the 161 Street-Yankee Stadium Station, 4 train service is suspended in both directions between the Woodlawn Station and the 149th Street-Grand Concourse Station. Stations being bypassed are: 161st Street-Yankee Stadium, 167th Street, 170th Street, Mount Eden Avenue, 176th Street, Burnside Avenue, 183rd Street, Fordham Road, Kingsbridge Road, Bedford Park Boulevard-Lehman College, Mosholu Parkway and Woodlawn For service to bypassed stations, customers are advised to take the Bx1 or Bx2 bus making nearby station stops along Grand Concourse. Please expect delays in service on the 4 and 5 trains at this time. |

Even though i like SMEEs, those 62s are sissy cars. They lack frames, and one car was junk because the body bent. Had it been a set of redbirds, you would probably just see a curled up anticlimber or two. |

Rear-end collision at Fordham in 2000. 1370 was lead motor, was sent to FDNY school on Randall's. The 2nd car, 1369, was sandwiched in between 1370 and 1368. Rest of the cars (1368,7,6) may have been sent elsewhere for training or reefed, not sure what happened to them. |
