Posted by GP38/R42 Chris on Wed Feb 13 11:11:37 2008 Here's some photos I took about a week ago on the Tampa Streetcar system when I had about an hour to kill before a Tampa Bay Lightning Hockey game at the St Pete Times Forum....          Typical station in the historic part of town (Ybor Center):   Trolley Barn:  Amtrak came through, but the sun wasn't cooperating at this time of the day, so only my "going away" shot came out somewhat:  Here's where I saw the Giants win in the Superbowl the next day....

Hm....you were in Tampa and NOLA the same day eh?I wonder if that Amtrak is on time. Did you notice the streetcars run on the right now instead of the left? I wonder why they changed the running. These are right where I'm upto on my BVE route. Now I got a good visual guide for how that awning at the station is supposed to look! :) |

I heard a train, and was near the tracks so waited for it. It was later in the day as the sun was coming down. |

That sounds about right actually, so it was probably on time. I left that area around 6:00 or so to head over to the Times Forum to park for the hockey game, so it probably was about an hour earlier that I got that photo. |

Well what do you know....I took these photos with my crappy little pocket camera (as I didn't feel llike walking around with my better camera) and the timestamp on that photo says "2/2/08 4:19PM"...which is actually correct....as it apparently was still set for New Orleans time when I put the batteries in....New Orleans being in Central Time.....So.....the train was EXACTLY on time.Way to go Amtrak! |
