It's that stereotype about transit workers you seem to have.Hey remember now Luch MJF has more years down here than you me and two other of our classmates combined.. I'm sure he wont be pulling a leg on this.. |

I guess he's been down in TA so long, he has devoloped a dislike for his fellow employees.Sorry, I just don't think RTO employees steal the hand towels, toilet paper, and that soap. I think that when it's missing, it's because they ran out, and no one cares enough to replace the stuff. You both will have a tough time convincing me that there are T/O's and C/R's who will risk their pension over stealing this stuff. |

I think that when it's missing, it's because they ran out, and no one cares enough to replace the stuff.I agree!!! The worst case of employee theft I ever encountered was when I used to work for a hospital. Every time they bought bologna or salami - huge commercial-size rolls of the stuff would disappear... They finally caught the guy who was stealing them. Turned out his brother owned the deli a few blocks away - he was bringing free inventory to his brother.... |

That dont seem to be a "dislike" to me.. Sorry, I just don't think RTO employees steal the hand towels, toilet paper, and that soap. I DO know of a T/O who "risked" his pension over submitting false doctors lines, which is just as bad or worse beacuse as far as management is concerned you are "stealing" from them.. Guess what happened?? |

I've only developed a dislike and disrespect for the jerkoffs who work for the TA.Again, there is a SMALL SEGMENT of the workforce who have stolen and/or vandalized. This is one of the reasons we have to endure trunk checks when we drive our cars off of TA property. Due to the knuckleheads who take track bags, garbage bags, gloves,.... |

There's no evidence of it because maybe you haven't seen it happen.Don't misunderstand what I'm saying. Neglect or lack of supplies are the main reasons why facilites are in poor shape. But sometimes a contributing factor to a supply shortage is when, somehow, a dozen bars of soap or a few rolls of TP somehow grow legs. I was a shop steward for a time. One pick I assisted the current shop steward in cleaning out lockers for the new pick on the line I used to work last pick. As we clipped and opened the unregistered lockers at the terminal we found, among other things, guys hoarding TP and packages of hand towels. |

You'll see a note on the fridge one day saying that it will cleaned out the next day, and the stuff disappears.Lunches get misplaced. You put your stuff in fridge, and when you come back later, it's now in the back because someone pushed your stuff back behind his. I can't imagine too many TA employees eating someone's lunch. It's more myth than anything else. |

If there are "signs" up (like the one at Main Steet when i was in the A Div in the Winter of last year) saying.. "Lunch Stealer we Know about you and you will get caugth".. There are signs up saying when the fridges get cleaned (usually every sat or sun) Seen this for myself.. |

Where would you go to eat another persons lunch? I mean, you'd have to eat on the road, afer work, or know your victim is on the road if you eat his/her food in the crew room. But I still think there are people who like attention, and create these situations that don't exist. I once had a fellow employee steal the bottlecap right off my soda while I was in the restroom. There was a contest, and he wanted the code from my bottle. He actually approached me and asked me for it (he was quite insistent), but I told him no, because I was playing for the same contest. When I came out of the restroom a few minutes later, my bottle cap, and the employee in question, were gone. This was at Woodlawn. I'd never seen the guy before previously, and I never saw him again. |
