"SPAN" is for changing other things such as font and text style as in <span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic"> . "BIG" and "SMALL" make things larger or smaller, respectively. |

Well it depends, I usually use span tags if I'm making a highlight and using a different font color at the same time, which is much easier than using different font tags. At other times though I just use the font tags. |
