I never rode either type of R-110, but that seat contour looks a lot more comfortable than the one that was ultimately adopted. I like the color, too. (And color variety is a good thing.) |

If these cars, R110B were the prototype for the R143/160, what was retained from the prototype. The length has been downsized from 67 Ft. to 60 Ft., the seating arraingement is different. The destination signs are different.What major components have changed or remained the same. Brakes? Propulsion? Couplers? Compressors? I'm out over my head here. Could someone with knowledge of both types, R/110B and R/143-R/160 point out the similarities and differences. If the differences are so great, how were those components tested that made it to the production models? Thanks avid |
