As a freshman in High School, I remember Mike Quill as the fiery TWU leader that was a true fighter for his men. He seemed to get along with Mayor Wagner inasmuch when the New Years Eve strike deadline approached, there always seemed to make a deal at the last minute. But not with Lindsey (aka. Lindsley). Quill, from the working class streets seemed to have a hard-on for the elitist Ivy League John Lindsey and called the strike. After 13 days the strike was ended and the seeds of the Taylor Law were planted. |

As a transit dependent person, I support the Taylor Law much as I don't countenance strikes by police, fire personnel. There has to be a better way. |
