That was an R179 borrowed from the A line.It also allows transit to see how well the R179 CBTC performs. There is also an R179 train or 2 on the M line for the same reason. |

That I don't know because I was never inside an R179 cab, but the CBTC is the same as the 5 car unit R160's and the 4 car units that can operate on the M. |

A few R179 trainsets are temporarily assigned to Jamaica in place of the many R160s that are Out of Service right now.The ongoing R160 situation is also a reason why the G line has been utilizing 100% R46 and R68 since January and will be doing so until further notice. |
