Having just stepped off of my train, I was pelleted with snowflakes. The platform was slippery, and the stairs were far away. I missed the warmth of the train immediately and tried to hurry to the fare zone. |

A friend kindly searched this for me, and found photo 87048 at New York Subway Resources. It's by Brian Cudahy, West 8th Street, looking towards Stillwell. My friend pointed out that the cab door is open, shown by the horizontal patch of light visible through the storm door window. |

Why would the cab door be open if the train is being operated from he front ? Bill M |

It could very well have been taken from a following train that keyed by since back then M/M could key by automatic signals without any supervisory permission. |

Most likely it was originally intended as a N/B out of Brighton Bch and the N/B M/M had opened the cab in preparation when it was decided instead to lay the train up. |
