The following stations are closed: Franklin Square, Fulton Street, Hanover Square and South Ferry. The Chatham Square platform itself remained in use to turn rush hour locals. 1963 – from The Book of Last Runs The Lo-V’s still in mainline service are transferred from the No. 4 Lexington Avenue Express to the No. 3 7th Avenue-Lenox Avenue Express. The Chatham Sq platform wasn’t only for rush hour lcls. When I rode the el, from Chatham Square, it was on a Sunday. That meant that the station was used during all times when the el operated and since this was 1950, that meant the el was still operating 24/7. |
