Posted by irtredbirdr33 on Sun Dec 22 16:27:14 2024 Tuscarora Almanac for December 22 1978 – From The Book of Last Runs The last R-46 subway car, 1216 is finally delivered to the NYCTA. The 754 cars in the R-46 order where built by the Pullman-Standard Car Manufacturing Company. Due to a strike the delivery of the entire order took over three years. Trivia: Two of the R-46’s , possibly 813 and 816 made a side trip to Venezuela before entering subway service. 1979 – from The Book of First Runs The Metropolitan Atlanta Regional Transit Authority opens its first rapid transit line. It is the East-West Rapid Rail Line and runs between Georgia State and Avondale stations. Larry, RedbirdR33 |
