Simply because of their uniqueness of being 67ft. long, the remaining serviceable cars should be swapped out with compatible 60ft. cars. Two per 10 car set, at a peak time of heaviest demand line. Maybe all sets on the DEMAND line. The 110B's in training service should be replaces with more up to date troublesome cars. Interior of 110B Exterior of 110B |

The cars Could have been a standard replacement for the 75ft cars, but awkward arrangement of 3 car sets made it difficult to marshall. The ideal setting would be married pairs, some singles. The design could still be used, for the Broadway Line routes,in the form of the R268s,in a modified configuration.. |

I was out with the flu during the qualifying classes for the R110B when the train set was assigned to a PM Lefferts Blvd run that was one interval ahead of my.picked run. If I had to drop back.more than one interval during a bad day I would get a deadhead back uptown to ger me back in place fir my post lunch trip. Plenty of formers were waiting for hat train. They seemed to know. Lots of flawless trips with the 38s in the early 90s |
