Nice images but the top one shows a great view of Columbus Circle with Central Park West just beginning at the corner with the Coca Cola sign. The bottom photo is lower Broadway adjacent to City Hall looking north. The old Sun building is the first on the right at Chambers Street. |

That Columbus Circle pic . . . the building at right (beneath the Coca-Cola sign) was home to the bus station for the Baltimore & Ohio's train connection, travelling via CNJ ferries to Jersey City through 1958.The building itself - 7 Central Park West - was also, from the mid-1950's to 1965, the home of 1010 WINS, from its Top 40 heyday (and the likes of Alan Freed holding court) to its early months of providing "all news, all the time." (By the time of the Nov. 9-10, 1965 blackout, though, they'd already moved everything to 90 Park Avenue.) |

That building just behind the statue of Columbus, with the water tank on ite roof, was still there in 2016. I was trying to replicate my grandfather's 1936 photo, complete with the Coca-Cola sign, 80 years later, and came pretty close. |

The trolley never actually entered the airport. It it was forced to terminate on the 94th Street bridge just above the Grand Central Parkway. The bus seen in the background is the Triboro Coach Q33 which formerly served LaGuardia for decades. |
