I've Noticed Some 6000 series R46s in Qs & Ns |

Posted by heypaul on Wed Oct 30 08:29:09 2024 I suppose these are excesses from A service as the new equipment goes in service. But I've only seen 4 car 6000 sets mixed with 4 car 5000 series cars. It's just different seeing the 6000's pop up, nothing earth shattering. |

As the R211s are released for service, more R46 sets are either sent south for to shore up the 'spare factor" in the Southern Division,or placed in Reserve Hold. There is no real rush to retire the cars enmass,as there are only 3 quarters of the Base R211 order delivered, around 300 plus cars. When Option 1 cars start arriving, then we will start seeing some 46s take the subway route to the Great subway yard of permanent retirement. |
