Could the Manhattan Bound Brighton Express Tracks North of Kings Hwy Be Used? |

Posted by heypaul on Mon Sep 9 21:35:57 2024 A couple of weeks ago, I was on a n/b Q that got tripped coming into Ave H. It sat in the station for over an hour. A couple of guys showed up during this time. The entire city bound service ground to a halt. Could the n/b express tracks been used to bypass the blockage? I know that Church Ave is being skipped s/b and all n/b & s/b B's & Q's are running on the local tracks. |

No power is off on those tracks with track ties in place...Meaning nothing goes through.. Okay. But if a n/b Q derailed and they needed work equipment alongside the Q, wouldn't it be easy to turn power on and remove any track ties and trips? |

Diesel trains can go through if necessary, and any work trains needed would be diesel anyway.Even for a diesel they'd have to remove any railroad ties blocking the way. Also how much trouble is it to flip a wall switch to turn on power? |

Didn't they do that on the Malbone Street wreck, flip the switch and the power back on.I am sure it is much more complicated then flipping a switch, I'm no professional but at the Museum we train in tag out/lock out procedures and its not just flipping a switch. |
