The project includes three new underground stations and extends from the L Line (Gold) in Little Tokyo and Arts District communities to the A (Blue) and E (Expo) Lines at 7th Street/Metro Center Station.

When I was last in LA I observed but did not ride the L in Pasadena and the E in Santa Monica. While I would have taken it since I was actually staying in Santa Monica and needed to go to Pasadena, there was more to the party than just me. LA is such a PITA to get around. Not only did we have to go between those two places but we also had a family gathering in Chatsworth in the far corner of the valley. They were 25, 30 and 34 miles apart from each other. Factor in LA traffic and it was at least an hour every time, if not more.

Just as in NYC, those of us that live here don't make those types of trips very often but tourists come here and travel from one end of the metro to the other and complain that LA is too spread out.

The stations are an upgrade over even our heavy rail stations. It's a really fantastic addition to the system. First train NB left 7th/metro at 1150am. I believe that the first train SB from little Tokyo left closer to noon.

It would be like staying in Coney Island and having events in New Jersey and Long Island, not that anybody would stay in Coney Island. I rented a Tesla in LA (I also own one) and the NAV would find alternatives but I didn't want to get off the freeways. In NYC I know to stay off the BQE, the Cross Bronx and the Van Wyck, among others. The LA map would look just like the NY map, all red, most of the time.

I too have taken multiple images of the same spot with my smartphone camera 📷 at times, but I usually pick the best one to save from each scene though. Thanks for posting and sharing this here! P.S. I wonder if the NYCTA is aware of LACMTA using the same "A" route logo and color scheme (white font on a blue background) on their maps and trains. Call the consultants about that! -William A.
