Posted by Elkeeper on Tue Jun 13 19:58:34 2023 June 13th, 1942: The remaining 2nd Ave el, from Queensboro Bridge to Chatham Square ends service. The last train left South Ferry at about 9:42 PM and arrived at Ditmars Blvd at 10:16PM. The train then ran light to Franklin Square, reversed just south of the station, and headed up 3rd Ave to the 129th St yard. |
