But how were they able to build a car with headlights like that? I thought there'd be a requirement to use, well, I don't know how else to say it, but "headlights". not a row of dots.

The R142s are the exception to that The b car end caps are stainless steel. The 142a are molded fiberglass at both ends. I love the 142a rough and rugged look. You can easily tell the difference between an 142 and 142a.
