Posted by chuchubob on Tue Aug 10 08:49:38 2021 SEPTA crews recently nearly clear-cut the vegetation at 40th Street Portal Park because it was so tall that trolley drivers couldn't see pedestrians. SEPTA said they will re-plant in September.My ride to 40th Street Portal Park  40th Street Portal Park

I recall when Market Street PTC cars crossed the Schuylkill on a bridge.I never rode that section with trolley cars on the bridge.We had to meet my father in Allentown Pa., I was 5 or 6 years old, so Mom(R.I.P.) ,and I took a bus from West Oak Lane, the BSS , then the MFSE to 69th St. , then the interurban car to Allentown. So I rode over the old bridge over the Schuylkill on the MFSE , but I can't remember doing it. I remember many things from my youth, but not that ride on the MFSE. |
