Actually even Myrtle isn’t entirely correct since at night and on weekends when a single Q unit was operated, C/Rs operated from inside the rear car so if you are going the negate the J. LL and M because they used mixed equipment, then the Myrtle el (MJ) has to be negated as well. |

Padron on Tue Mar 16 16:52:54 2021, in response to Re: SubChat Trivia Questions, posted by FYBklyn1959 on Tue Mar 16 15:42:19 2021. 3) C, Fulton Street/Concourse Line Weren't some R-10s mixed in near the end of the Arnine era on that line?R-10's began officially appearing on the IND "CC" local as early as June 1969, with two trains assigned from Concourse Yard. The last R-6 run was on 9/22/1976 on that route between the Bronx and Euclid Avenue. Here is an earlier photo of the R-10's on the "CC" at Hudson Terminal, from nycsubway.org... R-10 #3087, Chambers Street-Hudson Terminal, IND 8th Avenue Line; June 17, 1969. And the R-10's would still be seen sporadically on the "CC" at certain times during the 1970's, even sharing the trackage with the R-32's and slanted R-40's, after the R-6's had left the IND. They then became regularly assigned equipment by mid-October 1977. R-10 #2967 [ex-#1820], 145th Street [lower level], IND 8th Avenue & Concourse Lines; October 25, 1976. -William A. Extensively, but not exclusively which I think the OP was looking for. On the Canarsie Line, IIRC it was pretty much a hodgepodge of equipment from the late 60s to late 70s. The R-9s ran together with the Standards as they were being fazed out. With the R-9s, they ran with the occasional R-42. Then the R-16s & 27/30 showed up sending the remaining R-9s to the torch. Point being, over the years, you never knew what the next train would be with nothing exclusive. |

The R-12/14s still ran in solid trains on the mainlines at first before injuries to conductors resulted in their ban from use by conductors. I'm going to say the 5.2. Brighton express, since it was all-Triplex in the early 60s. 3. CC |

Exclusively means no other car class operated on the same subway line. Therefore...1. Bowling Green-South Ferry shuttle. 2. Franklin Ave shuttle (R11/34) 3. C/CC line until 1986. Just my guesses. |

Maybe an R-42 made it on the CC every once in awhile.Yeah, they did! From nycsubway.org... R-42 #4759, Chambers Street-Hudson Terminal, IND 8th Avenue Line; August 4, 1969. R-42 #4665, 59th Street-Columbus Circle, IND 8th Avenue Line; August 5, 1969. Note: R-42 car #4665 would be coupled to R-40M car #4460, after their respective mates collided with each other on the Williamsburg Bridge, June 5, 1995. That newly-mated pair ran in regular service for more years, and survives today as museum cars. -William A. Padron ["Bedford Park Boulevard | (CC) | Hudson Terminal"] |

The R-12s and 14s didn’t even run in solid trains on the mainline once the IRT Car Equipment dept decided to assign cars to barns by electrical manufacturer instead of cars type. The thing that caused the C/R injuries was the installation of the first radio antennas which were larger and heavier than the ones eventually installed on the BMT and IND cars. Even after the cars were retrofitted with the smaller antennas, the IRT supt decided to keep the restriction in place. |
