Yards and ships keep cats around to deter pests. Cats also have two brain cells to rub together and generally aren't in jeopardy of being hit by a train doing restricted speed. |

Posted by FYBklyn1959 on Tue Dec 29 21:17:38 2020, in response to Re: Saving cats, posted by Steamdriven on Tue Dec 29 17:30:30 2020. My childhood dog once killed a bird. It was a hot day, so my mother let her go out into the yard, and she (the dog) settled in under the back porch which covered part of the yard. My mother was doing something out in the yard, so the dog wasn't left unattended (I either wasn't home or was inside the house, so I did not witness the event). My mother said that the dog was lying on her stomach, and the bird landed nearby. The dog crawled ever so closely to the unsuspecting bird, then within reach, gave it a swat with one of her paws. RIP bird. Then she sniffed it and I guess realized it was no longer a threat and became uninterested. My mother was annoyed because she then had to bury the bird in the backyard. That was the end of the dog enjoying some outside time for that day. |

I've shared my home with many dogs.My favorite was a female named Val, a rescue. We bonded. She always placed herself between strangers and myself. I could go on, and on about what I think were her lovable traits. She was a natural hunter/killer for the local squirrel population. My count was 26 total. My son told me he saw her get three in a single day. We have a Chestnut tree in the front of our home. A magnet for squirrels. I've watched her creep on he stomach like a lion stalking prey on the Serengeti. Bam! She also could see when they would stray to far from the safety of a tree or telephone pole. Bam! Many's the time we would visit the vet because she injured a toe nail trying to go up a tree. I loved that dog. |

Anyone here remember seeing the front page of the NY Post a few days after flight 1549? Had a pic of one of those pieces of shit in flight, with a target superimposed over it. (I saw it in the national edition down here in South Florida, but I assume it was on the NY edition as well). I was like, right on, kill all of those motherfuckers. But as I said before, the PETA defectives would never allow it 😕 |
