Amtrak Avelia Liberty at Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard
Posted by GojiMet86 on Mon Sep 28 17:43:48 2020 I took these earlier at between 1100 and 1200. The Avelia Liberty went north of Penn Station for the first time as Amtrak 874. It ran behind Amtrak NEC 172 from Philly. At Penn Station, my understanding was that it was delayed a couple of minutes, enough to have the Vermonter 56 go in front of it. The Avelia photos are ordered in newest to oldest, so don't think it was going south to Penn.

Nice content! Crazy how the Amfleets and Superliners will outlive the first Acela trainset. Can't wait until Amtrak gets Siemens coaches in the masses, wonder what they will replace the Superliners with when their time comes. Always nice to see Amtrak get new equipment..
