Posted by chuchubob on Sun Dec 2 18:35:46 2018 SEPTA ran a farewell to their AEM7s Saturday with a quickly organized run from Paoli to Suburban Station and back. Six cars were bracketed by ALP-44 2308 on the east end and AEM7 2301 on the west end.Switching from track 1 to track 2 approaching Bryn Mawr because Amtrak had MOW equipment on track 1 around Narberth.   arrived Bryn Mawr  departing Bryn Mawr  cab of 2301 at Suburban Station  2308 at Suburban  end of trip at Paoli  Departing Paoli: 2308 is no longer the only ALP-44 in revenue service anywhere, as it went out of revenue service when passengers detrained.

Seven of the eight reportedly will be leased to NJ Transit, presumably for use as cab cars, while Transit's fleet is depleted by the long-delayed and now hurry-up installation of PTC. The other reportedly is junk. |
