As though they are catching up - they're not.I'd like to see a description with each weekend line closure as to what they are actually doing. |

"I'd like to see a description with each weekend line closure as to what they are actually doing."Inconvenienced riders might be more accepting of the situation if they had a better idea of what was going on. |

I think it is deliberate to not disclose. Because I suspect not much goes on or shutting down the whole line is overkill for what they are doing and don't want to be second-guessed.No train service east of Crescent on the J, weekend after weekend. Are they replacing track ? Why can't they run 20 minute intervals and single track Crescent - 121st ? Why can't they plop in panel track like they used to ? |

The nyct Facebook page sometimes posts pics from the different G.o that occur over the weekend. |

I think the j G.o is station rehab work and have work trains parked at those stations, thus can't run service. |

On BusChat, there is a thread discussing whether or not it is always better to use "proper terminology", in that case meaning not calling SBS routes "express" buses. But there can be no doubt that it would be preferable not to call any modification of a line's usual route a "shutdown". |
