I would imagine WMATA would let almost any individual or group of individual have some for a price under conditions that would limit WMATA's liability. As it stands now United Iron and Metal is being paid to remove them WMATA property. An aside note, I saw a Orion bus at United Iron and Metal last night. I can’t speak for other systems, but on the NYCTS, many car orders were delivered out of sequence. In the case of the NYCTS, it was probably due to most of the car contracts’ electrical equipment being split between WH and GE and which manufacturer'sequipment was shipped to the car builder first. For example, the 6400 series GE R-16s were delivered before the 6300 WH R-16s, and the 7525 - 7749 GE R-22s arrived on the property ahead of the 7300 - 7514 WH R-22s. The WH R-26s arrived before the GEs. |
