I don't have time, check out the stories yourself check the internet it's all there you tube has the video National Press Conference on UFO's these give pretty good reports on what is being seen, in 1952 the NATO fleet with the aircraft carrier USS Franklin Roosevelt was being followed bu a large USO Underwater Submerged Object seen by many navy shipmen seen traveling in excess of 50 knots underwater and later seen to leave the water at high speed. Now that I know what CO means (central office) I can now answer you. You say there was no phone power during the first big blackout I was referring to because the CO got its power from Con Ed? Wrong because the landline home phones were working te entire time during the blackout though some may have been overloaded.If you are saying that only pay phones were affected because they got power from the CO and the home phones didn't, that would be wrong also, So what are you actually saying? |

As has been made clear already, the power supplied to phone lines by the COs came from storage batteries located on the CO premises. Under normal circumstances, the batteries were recharged by electricity derived from Con Ed power lines, but the batteries could power phone lines for a time without Con Ed power. And the COs (most? all?) also had on-site generators to recharge the batteries in the event of a prolonged outage. So the phone lines did NOT depend on an uninterrupted supply of electricity from Con Ed. |
